The second EP, The Universe is a Strange Place, by Berlin-based artist Broad Oak is a deep, cinematic, ambient journey. Like his previous release, released late 2022, it took him over twenty years to complete.
The title is taken from a lecture he attended in Wellington in 2000 by Polish philosopher Henryk Skolimowski and the title track features samples from that lecture. Other samples he used are recordings of people he met on the street in Auckland and Berlin talking about their alien abduction experiences and vibrating into another dimension (as you do).
