Nigel Braddock releases stunning video for his new piano piece Heimweh
Nigel Braddock’s musical journey began with piano lessons at an early age, eventually leading him to earn a degree in piano performance from Otago University. In 2000, he founded his own record label, Monkey Records, where he spent the next two decades producing albums, managing bands, and touring internationally. In 2020, some years after relocating to Berlin, Braddock shifted his focus back to his own music, marking a return to his roots as a solo artist.
His latest work, Heimweh, is from his fourth EP and was inspired by a moment of deep homesickness for his native Aotearoa (New Zealand). The accompanying video, featuring breathtaking drone footage, captures some of Braddock’s favourite locations across the country, including the rugged West Coast beaches near Auckland and the South Island’s dramatic coastline. Heimweh is both a personal reflection and a return to the music that has always been at the heart of his creative journey.
